Prior to matching an individual into the job that is right for them, Links2Work Advisors take the time to get to know their clients. Advisors then provide support and assistance to build on an individual’s strengths and capabilities and gain them long-term, fulfilling and rewarding employment.
Preparing for Work
Links2Work believes that preparing to work should be presented to an individual as preparing for economic independence. With us, this begins with an individual’s one-to-one interview with an Advisor and the resulting individualised Action Plan. The plan acts as a guide and route map towards employment and is updated to reflect individual’s progress at significant events or intervals, detailing progress towards set goals and clearly outlining the benefits of being in work.
With goals in place, bespoke interventions are formulated to prepare an individual for work. These can involve a number of generic areas of support and development, coupled with specific vocational related activities for an individuals planned career path.
The support and development areas we offer include:
Help preparing your CV and writing cover letters
Training in a number of critical areas, including:
Basic skills and budgeting
Confidence, motivation and time-management workshop
Assistance with benefits, including: The positive effect work will have on your income through the use of a “Better Off Calculation”
How your benefits will change once you return to work?
Signposting and referrals to local community organisations to help you address any mental health, physical, or substance misuse issues you may have
Linkages to appropriate housing bodies
Links2Work will work with every job seeking client to fulfil their job outcome as quickly as possible. Wherever possible, we aim to provide this service within any funded provision we have been allocated.
